Meet the Animals: Welcome

The Alpacas

Born: 4 September 2007

Georgie came to Maggie's Farm as the owner could no longer keep her. She is a great mum to her son Gus and daughter Nikita who has found a new home. She has been halter trained loves to watch what's going on around her. She can also be quite bossy around food.

Born: 25 August 2014

Berry came to us already expecting because of the original owner's change of circumstances. She has a kind and gentle nature. She tends to hand back from the herd at feeding so needs human hands to help her.

Born: 9 September 2019

Cedric, named after the Harry Potter character, loves to spend his days hanging out with Hercules. Soft at heart and brilliant with a halter on. He is a gentle boy and quite crafty by nature.

Born: 16 July 2017

Shiraz came already pregnant but unfortunately had a still birth which sometimes happens under stress. She is a beautiful colour has been a fantastic auntie to our crias.

Born: 2 June 2004

Shadow has been the perfect mum to Moon and Cally. She is the oldest lady in the herd and is gentle and kind, always considers others first. She loves having her neck stroked especially if you have carrots as well!

Born: 5th June 2022

Cally was born at Maggie's Farm. Just like her mum she is gentle, kind and loves the attention of people. She is quite nosy and has a talent for photobombing.

Born: 26th August 2021

Lulu came with her half sister Florence. She's the 'wanna be' leader of the herd and lives up to her name of being vocal. She loves eating carrots.

Florence is half sister to Lulu and is quite shy and quiet compared to Lulu. She likes her neck being rubbed by people and enjoys a carrot!

Born: 5th May 2022

Gus was born at Maggie's Farm to Georgie who was one of the original rescues. He is a cheeky chap who loves playing with his fellow alpacas. He has a beautiful thick fleece and a fine example of a male alpaca.

Born: 5th August 2022

'Leo' was a surprise cria as her mum Berry came to us pregnant. She has a lovely temperament and is always the first one to greet you at the gate. She always has her head in something and likes to be mischievous with Cally.

Born: 27 May 2022

Angie has recently joined the herd and settled in well. She is pals with Cally and naturally a little shy but has the most amazing fleece. She's like a giant teddy bear.

Our Happily Rehomed Alpacas

Rosanna and Sweetheart were successfully rehomed locally together, along with 5 other Alpacas, so we get to visit them regularly!

Born: 17th April 2021

Hercules has had a sad start in life and come to Maggie's Farm to recuperate. He's a gentle giant with the most amazing thick fleece. He's settled in really well with his buddy Cedric who has a similar temperament. He's slowly begging to trust people and be hand-fed.

Born: 24th August 2007

Rosanna came to us and needed some care and attention. She is a very pretty huacaya who loves being the first to investigate anything. Her inquisitive nature often means she gets the first dibs on the carrots!

Born: 28 September 2013

Sweetheart was surrendered to me and needed some TLC to get her right. She is a suri alpaca which are not so common in the UK. She is the herd leader, guard and looks after everyone.

Our Pygmy Goats

Age: unknown

Kevin can be a bit bossy but overall, he is lovely. He came with his brother Shaun from a local high school, which unfortunately had to give up on their outdoor education program regarding animal care. Both Kevin and Shaun were accustomed to a small space, despite frequent walks, so Kevin was excited to be able to wander across the farm fields and dances around when ever he feels like it. Kevin is a foodie and is always first to the gate and in the bucket! A cheeky chap with a twinkle in his eye, he likes to give you a crafty head butt ~ when you least expect it!

Age: unknown

Shaun is the boss of the group and a very handsome chap. He loves the freedom of the farm and likes to share them with the Alpacas. He’s very curious and nosey, which sometimes gets him into trouble. Like his brother he loves his food and it can be a competition to see who can eat the most. Shaun hates being brushed, prefers to scratch and itch on the fence post! He likes the odd head butt as well.
