Maggie's Alpaca Sanctuary is an animal sanctuary based in the Leicestershire countryside. My mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home alpacas, as well as goats and hens.
My farm is a safe haven of peace and tranquillity for us all. If you would like to experience country life for yourself, come stay with us on the farm.
Maggie's
Story
It had always been my plan to have a safe haven for animals in need, little did I know that further down the line they would not only save me but also my friends...
Maggie’s Alpaca Sanctuary is a home to Alpacas, Pygmy Goats and Hens, most of which had a rough start in life. Several visitors have pointed out that it is a calming almost
mystical place. When I experienced a traumatic time in my life both personally and physically, the animals soothed and calmed me. I have since had friends come to stay in similar situations, they have cared for the animals while the animals nursed my friends.
Obviously, any animal care costs an awful lot, especially in today’s climate. To help support the animals, I can accommodate visitors at "The Cowshed" and "The Alpaca Pad" - both bookable on Airbnb - or visits can be for a day/half day.
I also converted a shed into a “She Shed” to make lampshades, bases and soft furnishings. I use the Alpaca fleece too to produce bedding, which is cruelty free, hypoallergenic and luxurious to touch. The majority of our products are made using local, recycled and reclaimed materials. This is important to me, after all, we need to take care of Mother Nature, so that in turn she looks after us.

Animal care and being creative have helped me to recover and re-energise; I have found a new me! I strive to help others feel better about themselves, by purely learning to relax and find peace here at my sanctuary. Mindfulness is at the heart of what I do and I thrive on the opening of people's worlds to my wonderfully curious Alpacas.
